The research focus of the laboratory is the development of statistical and bioinformatics methods for learning from diverse genomics data types, and the application of such methods through interdisciplinary biomedical efforts. Members of the laboratory are also developing protocols for comprehensive data management and the bioinformatics analysis of microarray and next-gen sequencing data generated by the University of Cincinnati Genomics Core.

Postdoctoral position in biostatistics/bioinformatics/computational biology.

The position is in the Laboratory for Statistical Genomics and Systems Biology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. A successful candidate is expected to pursue methodological research and work on collaborative biomedical projects. The laboratory is involved in various externally funded methodological and collaborative biomedical research projects and activities ranging from analysis of next-gen sequencing data to developing novel statistical/machine learning computational methods. Initial salary and the exact nature of the positions will depend on the qualifications of the candidate.

Qualifications: PhD in Binformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science or related field, or advanced pre-doctoral candidates. Strong statistical and computational background is essential. Experience in analyzing microarray or next-gen sequencing data as well as understanding of molecular biology and gene expression regulation would all be a big plus.
